Naoussa & Beaches

The little fishing harbor at this second, smaller Paros port, has some good tavernas, ouzeries and cafes, and some of the smaller streets have kept their old-world charm, though this area does get mobbed in summer. Though the waterfront was protected from large construction by a rather surprising act of legislation in 1997, there are plenty of hotels, rooms and apartment buildings farther back.

One can walk to some good beaches from Naoussa (something not possible from Parikia), including Piperi Beach to the west, a walk of only a few minutes, though the walk to Kolymbithres, also west, takes about an hour. The beaches there are some of Paros’ best, however, with little sandy coves amid large smooth sea boulders.
